The newest edition of the ATP Rankings didn't bring a lot of changes as players competed at the Davis Cup, where no points were awarded.
Although Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic lifted three out of four Grand Slam titles in 2022, the ATP Rankings were dominated by the young players throughout the majority of the season.
For a very long time, Daniil Medvedev held the ATP World No. 1 spot. After that, following a maiden Grand Slam title victory, Carlos Alcaraz became the youngest World No. 1 player in the history of men's tennis.
Now, the young Spaniard started his second week as the highest-ranked player, and for the second week in a row, Casper Ruud is the World No. 3. Then, the young duo is followed by one of two players older than 27 in the Top 10 of the ATP Rankings, Rafael Nadal.
Daniil Medvedev, who dropped from his No. 1 spot after the US Open, is now fourth, and Alexander Zverev, who is fighting an injury that he sustained at this year's Roland Garros, is currently World No. 5.
Stefanos Tsitsipas is the fourth player in the 2022 ATP Race, but only the sixth player in the ATP Rankings. However, his closest two opponents, Zverev and Medvedev are very close. The Greek player is only 230 behind Zverev, who is only 25 points behind Medvedev.
Behind the trio is the second player older than 27 in the Top 10, Novak Djokovic. Only 20 points behind the Serbian is Cameron Norrie, who is eight with 3,550 points to his name.
Andrey Rublev in ninth with 3,390 points. Although he's only 160 points from the player ahead of him, the Russian also has to look behind, as Hubert Hurkacz, who is tenth in the ATP Rankings, has 3,355 points, only 35 less than Rublev.
