Felix Auger-Aliassime sealed the win for The Kites in the first tie of the 2022 World Tennis League when he beat Nick Kyrgios to overcome The Eagles.

It was Kyrgios who started the opening tie perfectly for The Eagles. He teamed up with Bianca Andreescu and defeated Holger Rune and Eugenie Bouchard.

Then, Iga Swiatek defeated Caroline Garcia in the women's singles match, so the Australian returned to the court, this time for a singles match against Auger-Aliassime.

The Canadian came to Dubai in great form, as he led Canada to a Davis Cup triumph. He continued in a similar style also at the 2022 World Tennis League despite having a slow start against the 2022 Wimbledon finalist.

Kyrgios, who played one Grand Slam final in 2022, was the first player to break, and he quickly created a 3-0 lead. Auger-Aliassime couldn't win a single point on his serve, and he looked to be in trouble against the big-serving Australian.

However, that soon changed, and Auger-Aliassime found a recipe and got a break back. He then added one more break to win the first set 7-5 and take the confidence away from the Australian, who seemed to be unbeatable until that point.

Kyrgios had the first break point of the second set, but he couldn't use it. Only a few games later, the 2022 Australian Open doubles champion got in trouble on his serve, and he couldn't save the break points that he offered to his opponent.

Ultimately, Kyrgios was broken and lost the match 5-7, 3-6. The Kites secured their first victory at the 2022 World Tennis League, and now they can enjoy two days off before facing The Hawks on Thursday.

On Tuesday, The Falcons will play against The Hawks. Novak Djokovic is set to play against Alexander Zverev in the men's singles, while Aryna Sabalenka should take on Elena Rybakina in the women's singles.
