The Kites took care of the first victory at the 2022 World Tennis League as they managed to come back after disastrous start against The Eagles.

It was Nick Kyrgios, who started the opening tie perfectly for The Eagles. He teamed up with Bianca Andreescu and defeated Holger Rune and Eugenie Bouchard. Then, Iga Swiatek defeated Caroline Garcia and so the Australian returned to the court, this time for a singles match against Felix Auger-Aliassime.

The Canadian displayed stunning form lately as he led Canada to a Davis Cup triumph. He continued in a similar style also in Dubai despite a slow start. Kyrgios, who played one Grand Slam final in 2022, was the first player to break and he quickly created a 3-0 lead as Auger-Aliassime couldn't win a single point on his serve.

However, that soon changed and he found a recipe and got a break back. He then added one more to win the first set 7-5 and take the confidence away from the Australian, who seemed to be unbeatable until that point.

Kyrgios had the first break point of the second set, but he couldn't use it and ultimately, he was broken and lost the match 5-7, 3-6.

The Kites secured their first victory at the 2022 World Tennis League and now they can enjoy two days off before facing The Hawks on Thursday.

Tomorrow, The Falcons will play against The Hawks as Novak Djokovic is set to play against Alexander Zverev in men's singles, while Aryna Sabalenka should take on Elena Rybakina in women's singles.
