Jannik Sinner appears to be in a one-horse race at the moment as the Italian extended his lead in the ATP Race to Turin.

Sinner became the first ATP double champion of 2024 after winning the Rotterdam Open this past weekend. He defeated Alex de Minaur for the seventh time without reply in Sunday's final. He takes his points total to 2,500 from the two tournaments he has played this year.

Daniil Medvedev is in second place even though the Russian did not defend his title in the Netherlands, presumably due to fatigue. Medvedev has clocked 1,300 points from his runner-up finish at this year's Australian Open.

The Russian will be overtaken by Alexander Zverev should the German enjoy a deep run in Los Cabos this week. Less than 200 points separate the two rivals. Zverev is currently in third place ahead of Novak Djokovic, who is down in fourth.

The Serb has been crowned the year-end No. 1 for a record eight times. But he faces a fight to finish top for the ninth year. Djokovic has compiled 860 points from participating in the United Cup and reaching the Australian Open semifinal.

Alex de Minaur takes his place in the Top 5 ahead of Andrey Rublev after his runner-up finish in Rotterdam. Grigor Dimitrov and Hubert Hurkacz occupy the final two spots in the Race to Turin, which will determine the eight players who will qualify for the ATP Finals.

It is still the early days, of course, and there are many tournaments to compete in for the next eight to nine months. But one man who is not happy with his current run is Carlos Alcaraz. His title drought stretches to a seventh month after losing in the Buenos Aires semifinal.

Alcaraz is in 11th spot in the ATP Race with 500 points. Both Taylor Fritz and Tommy Paul are currently above him. In the 12th spot is a surprise name, and that is the newly-crowned Argentina Open champion, Facundo Diaz Acosta.
