Alcaraz Says He Wants To Get Another Wimbledon Tattoo Despite Promise To Parents

by Zachary Wimer

Carlos Alcaraz has a tattoo for each of the majors he's won, and he wants to get one for the 2024 Wimbledon Championships as well, but he's not sure his parents will be on board.

The 21-year-old has a few tattoos that generally have a deep meaning. He doesn't put just anything on his body, but mostly things that are important to him. One of his tattoos is a motto from his grandfather, which he got in memory of him.

The other few are tied to his tennis achievements, for example, when he won the US Open for the first time. He has one for winning Wimbledon last year and will get one for winning Roland Garros a few weeks ago.

During an appearance on the Tennis Channel after his triumph at SW19, Alcaraz was asked whether he'll get one for this year's Wimbledon triumph, and he confirmed that he wanted to.

"I told my parents just to calm them that it's just the first one in every major, but I think this is a pretty big moment. I'll probably put the date of this next to the last year. I'll have to discuss it with them. The Eiffel Tower—I haven't done it yet, but I will for sure. And this one, I have to talk with them."

The way the Spaniard has done it so far has been to put the date of his win alongside the symbol for the event. For example, for last year's Wimbledon, he got the date of his win and a strawberry tattooed.

For Roland Garros, he wants to get an Eiffel Tower and the date, and as he said, he might just add this year's date to the strawberry that he already has.

Obviously, it will depend on his parents, who don't seem too keen on him getting too many tattoos, especially because of how his future has been shaping up. The way he has been winning majors, he would need to get a lot of tattoos in the future if he keeps this tradition up.
