Alcaraz Lauds Rival Sinner Ahead Of Indian Wells Showdown: 'Best In The World'

by Zachary Wimer

Carlos Alcaraz will face Jannik Sinner in the 2024 Indian Wells Open final, and he's not entirely sure how he'll approach the match against the best player in the world right now.

If you followed tennis closely this year, you'll know that Sinner arrived in California undefeated. He won two trophies so far this year and had a chance to win a third one at the ATP 1000 tournament in Indian Wells.

He played amazing tennis to reach the semi-finals and will now face Alcaraz for a spot in the final. The Spaniard has also been tremendous, but his biggest match is coming up.

Sinner has given him problems in the past, and talking to the media, Alcaraz admitted that he's unsure of how to approach the match against what he believes is the best player in the world right now.

"Well, honestly, I don't know how I'm gonna approach the game, how I'm gonna approach the match. He's the best tennis player in the world right now, without a doubt. He's playing unbelievable, no losses this year. I really enjoy watching him play. So it's going to be a really difficult match."

It's a rather simple equation: to win, Alcaraz will need to play his best tennis possible. Nothing short of that will be enough to beat this version of Sinner. That makes it rather simple, but whether he'll be able to find it remains the question.

"It's going to be a big challenge for me and see what is my level, you know, facing him. The last, I think the last two matches that I have played against him I lost, so I have to adjust a little bit my game and let's see how it's gonna be. But for sure it's gonna be the most difficult match that I'm gonna play this year."
