Netflix dropped the trailer for the most anticipated tennis show in years earlier this week and with it details of the players they plan to feature during the series.

Five episodes of new behind-the-scenes documentary Break Point will hit Netflix on January 13, 2023 - three days before the start of the Australian Open - and hope is it will prove to be as successful for tennis as F1 series Drive to Survive was for the motor sport.

Alongside the trailer, Newtflix gave a list of players that have been followed for the series - and some may be surprised at just who made the cut.

Firstly, there is no Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nada or Andy Murray, still three of the biggest names in the men's game. It is still unclear if the players refused an offer to shadow or Netflix just chose to go in another direction.

The first five episodes will cover all the way to the French Open and 15 players revealed to featured will be:

  1. Felix Auger-Aliassime
  2. Paula Badosa
  3. Matteo Berrettini
  4. Taylor Fritz
  5. Ons Jabeur
  6. Thanasi Kokkinakis
  7. Nick Kyrgios
  8. Casper Ruud
  9. Aryna Sabalenka
  10. Maria Sakkari
  11. Sloane Stephens
  12. Iga Swiatek
  13. Frances Tiafoe
  14. Ajla Tomljanovic
  15. Stefanos Tsitsipas

Netflix have also revealed what the first five episodes it will cover and what stars it will follow. Episode:

  1. Australian Open (Kyrgios, Kokkinakis)
  2. Australian Open (Berrettini, Tomljanovic)
  3. Indian Wells (Sakkari, Fritz)
  4. Madrid (Jabeur, Badosa)
  5. French Open (Auger-Aliassime, Ruud)

It means viewers are in for a treat as it is a chance to follow two Aussie's - on their home Grand Slam - as they shock everyone and claim their first major title by winning the men's doubles in front of a raucous home crowd.

Five more episodes will arrive in June 2023, presumably in the lead up to Wimbledon, and there will also be interviews with the likes of Paul Annacone, Chris Evert, Patrick Mouratoglou, Toni Nadal, Maria Navratilova, Andy Roddick and Maria Sharapova.
