Alcaraz Confesses To Ignoring Phone Call From His Coach In 'Never Have I Ever' Game

Carlos Alcaraz pleaded guilty to intentionally ignoring a phone call from his coach during a fun-filled session with sports equipment company Babolat.

A select ATP and WTA players sponsored by one of the world's oldest racket manufacturers took part in the 'Never Have I Ever' game that aimed at asking them plenty of questions about the actual moments that happened in their lives.

Alcaraz was joined by 2020 US Open champion Dominic Thiem, Germany's Oscar Otte, and British No. 1 Cameron Norrie among the ATP players. On the WTA side, Billie Jean King Cup champion Leylah Fernandez and former WTA No. 1 Karolina Pliskova stood to the test.

Each player took turns answering real-life questions during their tennis journey. And the first question was whether they had gone to the wrong airport. Of the five players, Cameron Norrie was the only one who did while in Shanghai.

The second question pertained to a phone call that the players received from their tennis coaches. Alcaraz, Thiem, Pliskova, and Otte were all culpable of purposely doing so. The Spaniard said, "Yeah, I have to be honest (laughing)."

Alcaraz is being coached by former Spanish World No. 1 Juan Carlos Ferrero - a man he calls a "second father" who helped shape him into the player he is today. The pair started working together in 2019 when Alcaraz was only 16.

And the third question tested each other's honesty on whether they violated traffic law for overspeeding. "Never, I’m a safe driver," Alcaraz replied. Pliskova stated that she hasn't because she "doesn't" drive. Thiem, meanwhile, has and on multiple occasions.

"I’ve gotten plenty. I even lost the license once for one month because of speeding," the Austrian candidly answered. Norrie was on the same bandwagon as Thiem, saying, "I have; last time when I was in Monaco, I think I got three or four."
