Wozniacki To Travel Without Her Family For First Time To Upcoming Event

Caroline Wozniacki will leave her family behind for the first time since returning to professional tennis.

When Wozniacki retired from tennis many years ago, the Danish player was not a mother and only recently married. A few years passed between her retirement and her comeback last year, and she's now a mother.

That added another dimension to her life because she now had to juggle tennis and a family. It's something she fully embraced in her comeback and handled pretty well for the most part.

She won't have to think about that when it comes to her next event because her next event will be the Billie Jean King Cup. Denmark will play in Portugal, and Wozniacki will be without her family there.

It's the first time she's going to be without her family at an event because, so far, she has taken her family with her everywhere, including the start of the new season in Australia, where she talked about them quite a lot.

The kids will remain back home in Miami with her husband while she represents her country. Speaking to TV2, Wozniacki admitted to being excited about playing for the national team again.

"I haven't played for the national team for a while. Now, of course, I took four years off from tennis in general, so it will be great to play for the red and white colors again, and then we have an Olympics, where I would like to qualify."

The Billie Jean King Cup Group 1 ties will be played from April 8th till the 13th, and it's going to be a cool experience for Wozniacki, who missed representing her country.

Playing on home soil would have been better, of course, but that chance will come as well. At the moment, she is 17-5 in singles matches playing for Denmark.
