Why do Tiafoe, Fritz, Pegula & Keys draw locks on camera's after wins?

After their Australian Open wins, Frances Tiafoe, Taylor Fritz, Jessica Pegula, and Madison Keys drew locks on the cameras. Tiafoe revealed why after one of his victories.
American tennis is in a healthy place right now. Although 23-time Grand Slam champion and tennis legend Serena Williams retired on home soil at last year's US Open, several good players are on the ATP and WTA Tours.
Coco Gauff often receives the most attention because of her age. She burst onto the scene after reaching the fourth round of Wimbledon as a 15-year-old, including a victory against Venus Williams in the opening round.
Gauff reached her maiden Grand Slam final at last year's French Open. The teenager lost to the WTA world No. 1 Iga Swiatek, but she seems destined to be a multiple Grand Slam champion.
The strength of American tennis right now was shown by the country winning the United Cup at the start of the season. Gauff did not feature, but Tiafoe, Fritz, Pegula, and Keys had more than enough to bring the trophy back to the U.S.
Pegula, who was nominated for the 2022 WTA Player of the Year, and her three teammates have been drawing locks on the camera after their victories. That left some fans confused and wondering what the symbol meant.

Tiafoe confirmed that the players involved in the United Cup triumph did it to symbolize the need to stay focused. He also humorously commented on Fritz's terrible drawing skills, as seen below.
"[You] just have to stay locked. It's the whole thing with the United Cup guys. Just staying locked in. I made a joke about it with the guys at the United Cup asking them before the match, ‘Are you locked?’ It's definitely become a thing. It's so funny how true it is because staying between the lines, it's amazing how well you play. It's a funny thing with everybody."
