Emma Raducanu has a wrist problem but hopes to play at the Indian Wells Masters despite yet another injury as initially reported by the BBC.

Raducanu battled ailments for a large portion of last year, which prevented her from playing frequently or developing any sort of form. The British player is dealing with a wrist problem as she prepares for her R1 Indian Wells encounter tonight, so history repeats itself. Although it is hoped that she will be able to play, nobody is certain that she will really hit the court tonight.

The same issue that I had last year has started to flare back up. I'm going to do everything I can to be there tomorrow. "I think we always play through pain and it's just a matter of how much can you take - I'm looking forward to hopefully being out there tomorrow.

The initial injury forced Raducanu to miss the end of the season including the Billie Jean King Cup in Glasgow. It was a huge disappointment because she hoped to play on native soil and help her country at the event.

Injuries are nothing new for her, she's had plenty last year and this is the second one this year after the ankle in Australia. Last week she pulled out of Austin due to tonsillitis which she referenced during the talk with the media as well.

It affected me bad for the short term so I haven't prepared much. I've probably never felt so sick in my life. When it rains, it pours. This and the infection - it's obviously a challenge. My preparation hasn't been ideal. I played on the weekend and then I rested it - it's how you manage things when you aren't prepared.

If she does take the court, Raducanu will play only her 5th match of the year.
