'We Were No Longer Together': Sabalenka Breaks Silence On Boyfriend's Passing

Aryna Sabalenka's boyfriend, Konstantin Koltsov, passed away in Miami a couple of days ago, and the Belarusian player broke the silence on the matter.

Konstantin Koltsov's death sent shockwaves throughout not only the ice hockey world but also the tennis world, as he was the boyfriend of the current WTA's world no. 2, Aryna Sabalenka.

The Belarusian player refused to speak to the media, but she has now addressed the situation, revealing new information about their relationship while asking everyone to respect her privacy.

Despite Koltsov's passing, Sabalenka will still compete in Miami. She confirmed her participation at the WTA 1000 tournament, and she also practiced ahead of the event.

In her statement on social media, Sabalenka revealed that she was no longer together with Koltsov when the tragedy occurred, but it's still a situation that affected her immensely, and that's why she asked people to respect not only her, but also privacy of the Koltsov's family.

"Konstantin's death is an unthinkable tragedy, and while we were no longer together, my heart is broken. Please respect my privacy and his family's privacy during this difficult time."

The latest revelation from Sabalenka brings another shocking twist to the story, as various different, still unverified reports have surrounded Koltsov's death.

While the initial reports suggested he died because of a blood clot, the most recent reports suggested that he should have killed himself, with an even more recent interview with his ex-wife saying it was likely an accident.

Exactly because of these rumors and contradicting reports, Sabalenka asked the fans to respect her privacy, as she will try to forget the tragic news by doing what she loves, and that's playing tennis.

In the second round of the 2024 Miami Open, she's set to play against her good friend Paula Badosa, who outplayed Simona Halep in the first round of the competition.
