Former World No. 1 Angelique Kerber won the 2022 Strasbourg Open after a stunning 7-6(5), 6-7(0), 7-6(5) victory over Kaja Juvan.

Three-time Grand Slam champion, Angelique Kerber needed 3 hours and 16 minutes to beat Kaja Juvan in the longest WTA Tour singles final of the season. After winning her last title back in 2016 in Stuttgart, the German won her maiden title of the season and 14th of her career.

In every set of the match, the players reached the tie-break and after spending almost 200 minutes on the courts, the fans got their money worth as they enjoyed a great tennis match ahead of the second Grand Slam of the season. After an incredible match, the end was even more incredible as Kerber ended it with a stunning winner on the match point.

"The third set, it was head-to-head, it was really close. Playing three tiebreaks in the final shows that it was a really close and tough battle, and I’m really happy how I played at the end, and how I played the last point, actually!" said Kerber after the win.
