Venus Williams has yet to confirm whether she will compete at this year's Wimbledon Championships. However, recent news about her practicing at SW19 could indicate she is set to play at the third Grand Slam of the year.

Venus's sister Serena Williams already created headlines worldwide by announcing she would return to Wimbledon 12 months after she retired from her opening round with a leg injury due to slipping on the grass on Center Court.

Serena played her first matches since that unfortunate incident at last week's Eastbourne International by playing doubles with Ons Jabeur. The pair reached the semifinals before Jabeur withdrew due to a slight injury concern.

Venus is a much-loved figure at Wimbledon. She has won the women's singles title at SW19 on five occasions, most recently in 2008, when she overcame Serena in the final with an exceptional performance.

The older Williams sister has also been absent for a considerable period. Her last appearance was at the Chicago Women's Open in August of last year, where she lost in the first round.

However, Venus was spotted on the practice courts at Wimbledon. The account who took the photo of the seven-time major champion was impressed with the quality of her session, giving fans more reason to be hopeful about her chances of appearing at Wimbledon.

If Venus competes at SW19, it will likely be in mixed doubles. The draws for the women's singles and women's doubles have already been made, making her involvement in either category implausible.

She played mixed doubles alongside Nick Kyrgios in 2021. However, there has been no indication of who her partner might be if she does compete in mixed doubles this year.

Both Williams sisters appearing at Wimbledon would undoubtedly enhance the third Grand Slam of the year, and tournament organizers will hope that happens.
