Serena Williams was seen sporting plasters on her face during her return to tennis in Eastbourne and she's wearing them also in Toronto and it's related to her longstanding sinus problem.

Williams has combated several health issues during her life and it's not been smooth sailing most of the time. The American recently made her return to tennis and in Toronto she also got her first victory since June 2021. Later, Serena Williams also announced her retirement from tennis after the 2022 US Open.

She was seen playing with plasters on her face and it's due to a long-term sinus condition. The tape is meant to relieve pressure and pain from the condition. She commented once on the condition in 2007 explaining how it makes it really hard to play sometimes.

"I’m a sinus sufferer. Playing tennis or pretty much doing anything every day is not easy when you have sinuses. You feel a lot of pressure, congestion and pain and training for grand slams...it’s not easy."
