Coco Gauff had a very unfortunate moment at the 2024 Dubai Championships, arguing with the umpire for a good few minutes, which left a lot of people angry.
Many people sided with Gauff regarding this incident, and it was because she was right. Not only was she right, but she was also denied something that she shouldn't have been denied.
Calling for a supervisor is a perfectly legal action for any tennis player, but this time around, the umpire didn't allow it. It left the American quite frustrated, and she argued with the umpire for a long time before finally giving up as he wasn't budging.
The whole situation left her father very emotional, as he penned a letter on social media explaining how proud he was of his daughter because she stood up for herself.

Those were some beautiful words from Corey to Coco Gauff, and the teenager responded to her father in the comments. She generally has a really strong bond with her father and credits him often for the sacrifice he made for her.
