Raducanu Pulls Off Yet Another Comeback To Send Great Britain Into Billie Jean King Cup Finals

Emma Raducanu produced another sensational comeback in the 2024 Billie Jean King Cup Qualifiers, securing Great Britain's win over France.

The British player had a brilliant weekend in France ahead of her WTA return in Stuttgart. She returned to clay for the first time in a year and played some amazing tennis.

She first stunned the heavily favored Caroline Garcia to give Great Britain their first point. That was a comeback, as she lost the opening set.

She has now given Great Britain the deciding point in the whole tie after yet another comeback win. Raducanu was an underdog in this match as well, especially after Diane Parry stunned Katie Boulter 6-2, 6-0 in her first match of the tie.

In this match, the Frenchwoman won the opening set behind a pretty strong display of high-level tennis. Raducanu wasn't playing badly, as she totaled 18 winners in that set, but Parry simply played the crucial rallies better.

For example, she saved 5 of the six break points she faced, while Raducanu didn't save either of the two she faced. There was no indecisiveness from Raducanu in the second set, as she outplayed her opponent, winning it 6-1 behind a furious display from the baseline.

Parry didn't serve as well, which left her quite vulnerable to the Brit, who was the better player once the rallies developed.

A similar trend continued in the third set, as Raducanu was consistently outplaying her opponent. She was serving better, which made it easier in the rallies. She was hitting far better than Parry, who tried to match Raducanu from the baseline but found herself sailing many balls wide.

The Brit took the needed break midway through the third set, and even though she lost it, she was still able to win the match. It was a huge win for Raducanu, who was her country's most valuable player, and this win, 4-6, 6-1, 7-6(1), only proved it, as Great Britain will play in the 2024 Billie Jean King Cup Finals.
