Coco Gauff has been described as a very mature person considering her age and it comes due to her profession and how her life unfolded.
Gauff became a talking point in tennis at a very young age. It's an amount of media attention that not many people get, and she's dealt with it as well as one can. Her career is progressing.
She's improving and not regressing, and she's been described as very mature for her age. Now, ahead of her participation at the 2023 Qatar Open in Doha, she answered some questions also about her maturity at the Khalifa International Tennis & Squash Complex.
"I don't know. I think that's just my personality in general. I'm the oldest of three siblings. Maybe that has something to play with it. I don't know. I feel like I have learned a lot quickly."
Becoming a professional tennis player at a relatively early age aided her in accumulating those life experiences that most people her age simply don't have. It was a process as well. She learned a lot over the years.
"I think I have had a lot of life experiences early on and learned a lot early on. I don't know. I feel like I always know what I need to do and what I should do."
"But, yeah, I think it comes from the way my parents are, but I think I have also learned a lot over the years. I feel like that's why maybe I have matured faster than most."
Another thing she often talks about is pressure. There has always been pressure on Gauff as she was always the best in her age group, which came with a lot of expectations that she had to deal with.
"You know, always at a young age I was always the best of my age group or top of my age group, and that comes with a lot of pressure, so pressure is something I have dealt with my whole life."
