Only 19-year-old Holger Rune will soon make his debut at the Olympics, and he's really looking forward to it.

At the 2024 Paris Olympics, Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic are expected to fight for the Gold Olympic medal once more. The Olympic Games are one of the very few events that the Serbian has never won.

However, they will be facing a lot of resistance from young players such as Holger Rune, who is looking forward to making his debut as he revealed on the recent episode of the Tennis Weekly Podcast.

"It is [a big goal of mine]. I am super excited for it. It’s going to be next year, 2024 in Paris. I always play great in Paris and I am excited for it. It’s a great event. As a kid, I’ve been dreaming about it as well, so it will soon be a reality."

The 2024 Olympics tournament will be played at the Roland Garros, a venue that saw Rafael Nadal lift 14 Grand Slam trophies over the past two decades.

Rune has also enjoyed success in Paris already, as he has won the 2022 Paris Masters. Of course, that tournament is an indoor hardcourt event, while the Olympics will be played on the clay courts.

Clay is a surface that the young Dane likes, as he admitted, but he still needs to improve on the grass courts. Luckily for him, the last Olympic Games held on grass were in 2012, and it doesn't seem that it should happen anytime soon.

"I think hard court and clay [are my best surfaces]. I still have to get some more experience on grass, but I feel like my game, the aggressive game style I have is good for grass and I move well."
"I just have to practice more on it and get used to it. And I think I can be as good as I am on hard court and clay."
