Iga Swiatek has had an incredible year and in that year she's achieved plenty of milestones including some that haven't been done since Serena Willams did it.
Due to the excellence of her tennis career, Serena Williams is the holder of numerous tennis records. She had a long career and was the best tennis player the sport has ever seen, thus it makes sense that she has achieved numerous notable feats. Some of them could be duplicated, making Swiatek the first person to do so since Williams.
Since the current system was implemented in 2009, the Polish player will become just the second player to achieve 11.000 ranking points. Williams was the first one, and she had more than 13.000 points in 2013. That one will have to wait a bit.
Moreover, only 13 games were dropped by the Polish player this year at the WTA Finals which is fewer than Serena's best performance in 2013 (15). With only 11 games dropped in 2007, Justine Henin is the unchallenged leader in this statistic.
"In San Diego, I felt like I needed to, I don't know, lose one set to get on a different level of focus. Maybe b/c I was tired. Here I feel I can give it all in. It's the last tournament of the season. I'm giving it 100% physically and mentally," said Iga recently when asked about her efficiency.
