Coco Gauff made a humorous remark about attending Harvard University after an appearance with the University's female tennis team.

18-year-old Gauff graduated from high school earlier this year. Her early breakthrough onto the professional scene as a 15-year-old at the 2019 Wimbledon Championships makes it easy for fans to forget how young she is.

Gauff has yet to win a Grand Slam title, but she made solid progress in 2022. The American reached her first major singles final at the French Open, losing to the WTA world No. 1 Iga Swiatek.

Other impressive results throughout the year meant Gauff was named as one of the nominees for the WTA Player of the Year. Swiatek, Jessica Pegula, and Ons Jabeur were some of the other players to be nominated.

Gauff recently posted on social media about the most important takeaway from her 2022 season. The teenager is now preparing for 2023 but found time to visit the women's tennis team at Harvard University.

Meeting one of the best players in the world was undoubtedly a special moment for the team. The Instagram page dedicated to women's tennis at the University posted excitedly about Gauff's appearance.

"Grateful we got to spend a little time before the holidays with the amazing Coco Gauff. Welcome to the Harvard Fam! Coco Gauff is currently the #7 ranked tennis player on the WTA professional tour. We wish her all the best “Down Under” and continued success for 2023 and beyond! Keep building!"

Gauff, a regular Instagram user, joked about being able to say she went to Harvard University after visiting the women's tennis team.

"I can officially say I *went* to Harvard University."

This year's French Open runner-up is already inspiring many despite her young age. Because of her natural charisma and personality, Gauff has the potential to be one of the most influential figures in the sport if and when she wins Grand Slams.
