Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal are not only the most successful male tennis players, but they are also the two most followed on social media.
Over the years, Nadal and Djokovic battled it out for many Grand Slam trophies. At the moment, the Spaniard has 22 majors to his name, while his Serbian rival has won 21.
Those battles attracted millions of fans worldwide, and many of them want to follow their lives also away from the tennis courts. Because of that, Nadal and Djokovic are two of the most followed ATP players on social media.
At the moment, Nadal is the most popular tennis player on Instagram. The Spaniard has 17.1 million followers, which is much more than his two close rivals. Nadal's incredible popularity could also be attributed to the large Hispanic community, which certainly follows the Spaniard.
Novak Djokovic is the second player on the list. He has 11.7 million followers, which isn't much more than the third member of the Big Three, Roger Federer. The Swiss Maestro has accumulated a total of 10.9 million followers on his Instagram account.
While these three players might appeal to the fans because of how successful they were, the fourth player on the list built his reputation as an entertainer. Nick Kyrgios might be a controversial figure, but he's loved by his fans, which his social media numbers reflect.
Kyrgios is the fourth most followed ATP player on Instagram. He has a total of 3.3 million fans on his account. Soon, however, he might drop down by one position as teenage prodigy Carlos Alcaraz started accumulating hundreds of thousands of followers.
The young Spaniard became the youngest ATP World No. 1 player ever this year, and 2.1 million followers are interested in his journey. Behind the Top 5, many players have similar follower counts.
Juan Martin Del Potro has 1.9 million followers on Instagram. Andy Murray and Alexander Zverev both have 1.8 million followers, Stefanos Tsitsipas has 1.7 million, while Matteo Berrettini and Dominic Thiem have 1.5 million.
