Gauff Shares Details Of Passionate Interaction With Fans After Indian Wells Loss

Coco Gauff is a charismatic figure in the tennis world and recently bumped into some of her fervent supporters while trying fast food at In-N-Out Burger.

This past week, Gauff celebrated her 20th birthday by treating herself to a cheat meal. She was competing at the Indian Wells Open in California, the home state of one of the most popular fast-food restaurants in the United States.

Gauff won her first Grand Slam at the US Open last September, beating Aryna Sabalenka in three sets. This month, she returned to the United States to play her first official tournament since that groundbreaking success in New York.

She extended her win streak on home soil to 20 matches before it was snapped by Maria Sakkari in a dramatic semifinal in Indian Wells. The young American saved multiple match points towards the end of the second set but could not keep out the Greek in the decider.

After losing her undefeated streak at home, Gauff took time to visit one of the closest In-N-Out fast-food chains and posted on her Instagram stories about her experience trying their dishes.

"First time having this," Gauff wrote in her first story while waiting in the driveway. After trying the burgers and fries, she shared her reaction, "Solid 8/10 burger was good! I think the fries could be more crispy."

However, the most pleasing part of this experience happened after Gauff opened up about a heartfelt interaction with the Rowley family, who handed her an appreciation letter. The World No. 3 also informed her followers that the same family paid for her meal.

"Thank you to the Rowley family for giving me this while in the drive thru at In-N-Out and they paid for my meal. Always positives even in the losses. Human connections like this means a lot especially after tough matches so thank you!"
