Coco Gauff's footwear sponsor New Balance will honor the 19-year-old's favorite holiday with the launch of the 'Spooky Season' colorway of her sneaker line Coco CG1.
If you intend to buy tennis shoes and you are fond of the Halloween season, then Coco Gauff's signature shoes have been custom-made to mark the occasion. The Coco CG1 'Spooky Season' will be released on October 6th via the New Balance website and select retailers for $170.
Gauff, currently competing at the 2023 China Open in Beijing, is expected to don the new colorway at the 2023 WTA Finals at the end of October, just in time for Halloween. The 'Spooky Season' edition will be the second colorway since Gauff won her maiden Grand Slam title at last month's US Open.
It features a blend of black and dark purple with speckled details on the midsole. Off-white laces give it a distinctive look of contrast. Gauff and New Balance unveiled the T500 shoes in mid-September in collaboration with Aimé Leon Dore.
The 19-year-old signed a multi-year deal with New Balance when she was in her early teens and extended that contract last summer. It was in 2022, that Gauff and her footwear sponsor announced the debut sneakers line called the New Coco CG1, becoming the lone active tennis player to have her own signature tennis shoe.
She has forged her career-best season on the WTA Tour by some distance in 2023. Gauff won three of her biggest titles during the US swing, at a 500-level in Washington, a 1000-level in Cincinnati, and a major title in New York. Victory over Aryna Sabalenka in the US Open final ensured she vaulted to a career-high ranking of World No. 3.
Gauff is chasing her fifth title of 2023. She is scheduled to meet Russia's Veronika Kudermetova in the last 16 of the China Open on Thursday.
