Emma Raducanu is keeping busy by providing fans with virtual tennis lessons as she remains out of WTA action due to injury.
Raducanu is working with a virtual app Airwayz, where customers pay to receive expert lessons and features from various international sports stars. Via the platform, subscribers can pay to get individual, expert advice from Raducanu on their preferred shot, footwork, or physical improvement for a fee of $2,000.
In addition, subscribers have the option to join Raducanu's personal channel, where they can see aspects of her life and routine for a $5 subscription fee. The professional sports stars involved in the app regularly post on their personal stories page and other athletes, like Jack Grealish, Gareth Bale, and Alex Morgan are also involved.
Raducanu's participation in the coaching and lifestyle app is the latest commercial venture from the 20-year-old. The former US Open champion also has partnerships with Porsche, British Airways and Dior.
Recently, Raducanu also took part in another coaching session with two young fans while she was over 4,000 miles away. The British player was not providing the guidance via an online stream, but through groundbreaking holographic technology, which beamed Raducanu's image from Abu Dhabi to the court in London.
As Raducanu is exploring new off-court enterprises, her on-court experiences have been more turbulent throughout the 2023 season so far. In late April, the 20-year-old withdrew from the Madrid Open due to injury and dropped out of the WTA rankings top 100 as a result.
Following her decline in recent months, Raducanu underwent three separate surgeries on her wrist and ankle, which ruled her out of the 2023 Roland Garros and this season's Wimbledon main draw too. More turbulence has followed the British player in recent weeks when she decided to split with former coach Sebastian Sachs- her sixth coach in just two years.
