Iga Swiatek's practice session ahead of the upcoming Indian Wells tournament was interrupted by a couple's marriage proposal.

Whilst the world number one and hitting partner Sofia Kenin were practicing on court at Stadium 1 yesterday, the pair were distracted by the two tennis fans' proposal, which took place in the stands.

After the proposal was complete, Swiatek invited the couple down to the court, posed for pictures and also asked for a speculative invite to the wedding ceremony.

Swiatek returns to action at the Indian Wells competition this week and will hope to retain her title after winning the US event in 2022. She would become the first female player to win back-to-back Indian Wells titles since Martina Navratilova in 1990 and 1991.

The Polish star will also want to maintain momentum after victory at the Qatar Open and a final appearance at the Dubai Tennis Championship in February.
