Paula Badosa was asked about her relationship with
Stefanos Tsitsipas at
Wimbledon, and she shared how it came to be.
After weeks away from the courts, Badosa finally made her return on the courts, cruising past Alison Riske in the first round of Wimbledon. It was a pretty solid win for the Spaniard,
who rushed after her match to see the finish of the match between Stefanos Tsitsipas and Dominic Thiem.
Her boyfriend, Tsitsipas,
managed to squeeze out a win in a five-set epic. After watching her boyfriend win, the Spaniard finally had her post-match press conference, where she shared the origin story of "Tsitsidosa," how the couple is often called.
The Greek player previously hinted at how it all started, but the highest-ranked Spaniard on the WTA Tour told the full story, almost.
"He already explained it, all the Rome story. Yeah, I think you mean about that I had a dream about that? Yeah, well, I was injured in Australia. I watched his match, the final. Of course I had jet lag because I was in Spain. I decided to watch that match."
"Surprising, because I never dream about tennis players, but I dreamt about him that night, that we were both winning Australian Open. Then it was like we were having a very romantic moment, but I'm not going to explain. I'm just going to leave it there."
The two also recently took part in a
hilarious couples challenge, revealing more about their relationship. The most important thing for the duo is that they won their opening matches, which will keep them in London for a little while.
That's great news for all Tsitsidosa fans, who may soon see the two on the court together as they signed up for mixed doubles as well.
