The WTA draw for the 2023 Madrid Open promises a lot of action in the Spanish capital from April 25th to May 7th, 2023.

Ons Jabeur lifted the trophy last year and she will want to defend it this year despite the recent injury scare. The Tunisian will start against either Anna Bondar or Ana Bogdan in the first round of the WTA 1000 event in Madrid.

But all the eyes will be on Iga Swiatek, who added another trophy to her collection in Stuttgart. The young Pole is the first-seeded at the 2023 Madrid Open and already in the second round, she can play against fellow Grand Slam champion, Emma Raducanu who will play against a qualifier.

Player that the world no. 1 beat in the final is the world no. 2, Aryna Sabalenka, who will also play at the tournament, and she will compete against either Lauren Davis or Sorana Cirstea in the second round.

Coco Gauff is also one of the interesting names in the draw and the American will kick off her journey against the winner of the match between fellow compatriot Shelby Rogers and Kaia Kanepi.

The seventh-seeded Elena Rybakina faces an interesting draw as she can meet talented Czech player Brenda Fruhvirtova or Anna Kalinskaya in the second round. On the other hand, Jessica Pegula will start against either a qualifier or Jasmine Paolini.
