Athletes from different sports often recognize each other's achievements, and it was not different in the case of Novak Djokovic and Lionel Messi.

Recently, the Argentinian led his country to a historic triumph at the World Cup in Qatar when they defeated France in the final. Messi was the best scorer of his team and even the 21-time Grand Slam champion, Novak Djokovic, went to Qatar to watch the final match.

Djokovic, one of the best tennis players in the world, is used to playing under pressure, but even he couldn't have anticipated the heart-pounding thrill that was about to take place on the field.

Some of the most famous people in attendance at the stadium joined the 21-time Grand Slam victor in the VIP box, including Nasser Al-Khelaifi, the owner of Paris Saint-Germain, legendary footballer Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Khabib Nurmagomedov, 2018 World Cup victor Paul Pogba, and Argentinean footballer Javier Pastore.

After watching the final, he moved to Dubai where he competes at the 2022 World Tennis League. He was forced to withdraw from his match against Nick Kyrgios but during one of the interviews, the Serbian spoke about Lionel Messi, stating:

"I admire Messi and respect him a lot. I think most of the world is happy with his achievement and what he has managed to do. Him being humble, a down to earth guy, not taken away by success. He's a great example to all the children that look up to him," he said.
