Jannik Sinner's team grew by another member ahead of the 2025 China Open in Beijing, as he added a physiotherapist to his team.
Sinner has previously worked with Giacomo Naldi as his physiotherapist and Umberto Ferrara as his fitness coach. However, those two were the direct reason why he tested positive for a banned substance last year, which is why he stopped his collaboration with them.
This year, the Italian player hired Marco Panichi and Ulises Badio, who previously worked with Novak Djokovic. Quite surprisingly, Sinner ended that partnership after only a few months, and for some time, he was without a physiotherapist, after rehiring Ferrara as a fitness coach.
Now, he has found a physio who will travel with him, after previously using the services of ATP physiotherapists. Sinner hired Alejandro Resnicoff, an experienced physio who has worked on the Tour for over 15 years.
Due to his previous doping controversy, but also because of the interest in any changes to a player's team, Sinner was asked about this change ahead of the China Open. Specifically, Sinner was asked what was the biggest change Resnicoff brought.
The world No. 2 player explained that there wasn't any change he would need. In fact, he needed the exact opposite. Someone who would join his team and align with their work approach. Resnicoff managed to do that.
"Look, no specific changes. I mean, on the court, we are changing a lot. Off the court is more or less the same. He's a very experienced physio, obviously being on the ATP Tour for 15 years, more or less. Also before he had other tennis players, so... He has a lot of experience."
"He also respects how we are as a team. It's not that he comes in and changes everything. If he sees that we have or could potentially improve something for my body, he's here to help. This is how it works. But it also takes time. I've worked with him a little bit in the years when I didn't have my physio. Not as much."
"Obviously, now having him for me, it's a huge privilege. He's super, super experienced. A very honest person, a nice and kind person. He also has a family at home. He has a nice situation also outside of work. Yeah, it's everything going in the right direction."

Sinner says he's healthy ahead of the China Open return

With the challenging schedules that tennis players have to deal with these days, one of the most repeated questions is the one about their physical state. Sinner faced that question ahead of the ATP 500 event in Beijing as well, but declared that he feels healthy.
"Yeah, I mean, it's again great to be back in a tournament. After the US Open, the body's in good shape. Mind also. Had some good time off after the US Open. Yeah, we are preparing ourselves in the best possible way. Of course, the first round is never easy in any tournament. So let's see what I can do tomorrow."
"But in everything, I'm very happy to be back again. Hopefully, to play some good tennis. But we try to prepare ourselves in the best possible way. Obviously, I'm looking forward to playing again here in China, and we'll see how it goes."
