Jack Draper won't play any more tournaments in 2025 after he ended his season early because of an injury setback.
Draper's season started with a retirement at the Australian Open, and it ended with a withdrawal at the US Open. In between those two, however, he played some inspired tennis, which catapulted him into the Top 10 on the ATP Tour.
The Brit played the Qatar Open final and won the Indian Wells Open. He also played in the Madrid Open final, and during Jannik Sinner's three-month suspension, he was arguably the best player on the ATP Tour.
After that period, he was one of the favorites to win at Wimbledon, but Draper lost already in the second round to Marin Cilic before missing the entire North American hard-court swing. He then played his first-round match at the US Open, but withdrew from the tournament prior to his second-round meeting with Zizou Bergs.
After missing so much playing time, Draper signed up for the Chengdu Open, the Japan Open in Tokyo, as well as the Shanghai Masters, but he will miss all of those tournaments. In fact, he will miss the remainder of the 2025 season.
Draper posted an update on his social media accounts, explaining that he will have to end his 2025 season early because of an arm injury, which has been troubling him since Wimbledon.
"Hi guys, an update from me. Unfortunately, the injury to my arm is something I have to rest and means I’ll be sitting out the rest of 2025. It is very difficult for me to accept, as I was building some incredible momentum this year and playing some great stuff."
"However, I’ve been through this before, and I always come back stronger as I’m so motivated to fulfil my potential as a player. Huge thanks to everyone who backs me to do well and supports me on my journey. Can’t wait to get back out there and give it my all. See you soon!"

What to expect from Jack Draper in 2026?

This year, Draper certainly showed that he has what it takes. Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner have been dominating on the ATP Tour, with many fans waiting for the third player who could disrupt their dominance to arrive.
As an ATP Masters 1000 champion, Draper has certainly proven that he could be that player. He still misses a bit of consistency, but as a left-handed player with a big serve, he could enter the Top 3 on the ATP Tour.
Like with many talented players, the biggest question will remain his health. Draper is one of the players who have struggled with injuries during his career, and if he keeps experiencing setbacks, being a consistent title challenger might be difficult for him.
