Novak Djokovic had a fellow legend watching him at the 2025 Miami Open, and he also played like it, reaching the quarter-finals at the ATP Masters 1000 event.

Djokovic broke Rafael Nadal's record for most wins at the Masters events while competing in Miami this year. Now, he extended that level even further with a great performance against Lorenzo Musetti.

Usually, Djokovic has a three-time Grand Slam champion and a fellow former ATP World No. 1 player, Andy Murray, watching his matches, as the Brit now works as his coach. But this time, even more major winners witnessed the Serbian's brilliance.

The 2009 US Open champion, Juan Martin del Potro, and the 23-time Grand Slam winner Serena Williams were both in attendance at the Hard Rock Stadium. They had to wait for the match, as it started much later than expected because of rain, but Djokovic certainly didn't disappoint them.

The 37-year-old has struggled with his level in recent months, but he put together one of his best performances this season to beat Musetti, who always managed to trouble him before. The Italian player even has one win over Djokovic.

This time, however, the six-time Miami Open champion didn't allow any upsets, even though he had a very slow start. Djokovic lost the first two games of the match, and it seemed that Musetti would be able to trouble him once again.

However, after that, Djokovic went on to win nine consecutive games. From 0-2 down in the opening set, the Serbian player won the first set of the match 6-2 and even created a 3-0 lead in the second set.

Musetti didn't know what to do, and it seemed that whatever he tried, Djokovic just had an answer for it. Down 0-3 in the second set, the Italian player finally held his serve despite facing two break points in that game as well.

Of course, that one hold didn't change the outcome of the match, as Djokovic continued dominating. In an hour and 20 minutes, the 37-year-old Serbian won the match easily 6-2, 6-2, to reach the 2025 Miami Open quarter-finals.

Djokovic can be happy about his performance, as it was arguably the best match that he played since defeating Carlos Alcaraz in the quarter-finals of the Australian Open.

He will now prepare for his quarter-final match in Miami. Djokovic's opponent will be the 24th-seeded Sebastian Korda, who recorded some impressive wins in Miami this year.
