Novak Djokovic added yet another record to the long list of records that he owns after his most recent win at the Miami Open.

Djokovic is one of the two most successful men in the history of the Miami Open. Like Andre Agassi, he has won the tournament six times, and like Agassi, he once did it three times in a row. Between 2011 and 2016, the Serbian player dominated the tournament, winning five out of six editions.

Still, despite his incredible success at this ATP Masters 1000 tournament, Djokovic last played in Miami in 2019 before returning this year. His first-round win against Rinky Hijikata marked his first at the event in six years.

With that win, Djokovic leveled Rafael Nadal's record for most wins at the ATP Masters 1000 level. The Spanish legend won 410 matches at the Masters tournaments in his career.

Naturally, that meant that in his next match, the Serbian would have a chance to break the record, and he did just that against Camilo Ugo Carabelli in the third round of the tournament.

Ugo Carabelli is a player who doesn't play on the hard courts often. The Argentinian is a clay-court specialist, which is one of the reasons why he was a huge underdog in this match. Of course, apart from the fact that he was taking on arguably the greatest tennis player of all time.

Djokovic let his opponent know who he was taking on early on in the first set. Although Ugo Carabelli had a 40-15 lead in his first service game, the 24-time Grand Slam champion won four points in a row to break his opponent's serve.

In almost no time, Djokovic was up 3-0, and after breaking his opponent's serve once more time, the 3-year-old increased his lead to 5-1 in the opening set. Of course, he had no issues serving out the match and winning it 6-1.

But surprisingly, Ugo Carabelli was able to find some answers in the second set. Despite being broken already in the third game, the 25-year-old Argentinian quickly broke back, and from there, both players were able to hold their serve.

That meant a tie-break had to decide the second set, which was the case also in Djokovic's match against Hijikata. Like against the Australian, Djokovic won the tie-break 7-1 to win the match 6-1, 7-6(1), reaching the fourth round at the 2025 Miami Open.

More importantly, Djokovic also broke Nadal's all-time record for the most ATP Masters 1000 wins. He will have a chance to further extend the record in the fourth round against the 15th-seeded Lorenzo Musetti.
