The ATP and WTA seasons end in November, but that does not mean the action will stop in December.
While some players step away from any events and just focus on resting and preparing for the new season in December, others take the chance to play in more relaxed environments where the final result does not matter as much.
That perfectly suits Carlos Alcaraz. He is a natural entertainer, and exhibitions allow him to use trick shots and deliberately get the crowd involved without worrying about it harming his chances of success.
Alcaraz will appear at two of the five exhibitions scheduled in the U.S. from December 4th to 8th. They will all be played on indoor hard courts, and it provides an opportunity for fans who did not get to watch Alcaraz and other stars in their previous U.S. appearances in 2025.
On December 7th, Alcaraz is scheduled to face Frances Tiafoe at the Prudential Center in New Jersey. They met in an exhibition last December in Charlotte, which Tiafoe won after a very entertaining spectacle.
Emma Raducanu, who played mixed doubles with Alcaraz at the 2025 US Open, will also feature at the Prudential Center. The 2021 US Open champion and Amanda Anisimova, are set to play a match against each other.
Alcaraz's second exhibition appearance will be on December 8th at LoanDepot Park in Miami against Joao Fonseca. The 19-year-old Brazilian is tipped by many as someone who can challenge the Spaniard for Grand Slams in the future.
Therefore, a match between them, even if it is an exhibition, should be fascinating viewing. Raducanu and Anisimova, who reached this year's Wimbledon and US Open women's singles finals, will also play another match in Miami.
Although this year's Charlotte Invitational on December 4th could not secure Alcaraz's services, Venus Williams is an exceptional replacement. Despite being 45, the seven-time Grand Slam singles champion has still not retired.
Williams's appearances this year included being competitive against Karolina Muchova at the US Open. She will face her compatriot and the 2025 Australian Open champion Madison Keys in the exhibition.
The Charlotte Invitational also includes a match between Taylor Fritz and Frances Tiafoe. Their best-known professional contest was Fritz's dramatic victory in five sets against his fellow American in the 2024 US Open semifinal.
Aryna Sabalenka and Naomi Osaka are scheduled to battle in the other two exhibitions. The first of these will occur on December 6th in Atlanta at the Gas South Arena before they meet again on December 8th at Madison Square Garden.
If fit enough, Nick Kyrgios will also be present at those exhibitions. The Australian's comeback attempt on the ATP Tour in 2025 after severe wrist and knee issues during the previous few years was mostly a failure because his wrist repeatedly broke down in matches.
Kyrgios is scheduled to face Ben Shelton in Atlanta in a clash of big personalities. Tommy Paul will play the Australian at Madison Square Garden two days later.
