Nick Kyrgios has expressed his excitement at playing in the World Tennis League in Dubai and the Diriyah Tennis Cup in Saudi Arabia this December.
The pair of exhibition tournaments take place during the off-season, and include a whole host of world-class players, with World No. 22 Australian Nick Kyrgios one of them.
The 27-year-old took to Instagram to express his excitement for the upcoming exhibition tournaments, indicating that the money involved may have been a deciding factor for him.
"Saudi Arabia and Dubai is all that’s left, you know I gotta get the bag," Kyrgios wrote alongside a photo of himself on Instagram, and an emoji of a bag with a dollar sign on it.
"At the end of my outstanding season 2022 I’m excited to play at the Diriyah Tennis Cup. I’m looking forward to getting to know the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and especially to having fun with the other players and showing the fans some really entertaining tennis," he said.
Kyrgios reached his maiden Grand Slam tournament at Wimbledon this summer, eventually falling to Djokovic in four sets. He also won the men's doubles title in his home major at the Australian Open in January,
He decided to skip the Laver Cup and most of the European hard swing at the end of the season, but has instead chosen to play these two exhibition tournaments held in the Middle East to boost his end of season earnings.
Fans of the mercurial Australian will next see him in tour action at the United Cup at the turn of the new season, where he is scheduled to represent his country. Following that, it will be the Australian Open for Kyrgios, who will be keen to add to the big strides he made at the majors in South London this summer.
