Once again, Nick Kyrgios didn't avoid controversy at the 2022 Halle Open as he lost to Hubert Hurkacz in the semifinal of the tournament.

It seemed that the 2022 Australian Open doubles champion will be able to reach the final at the 2022 Halle Open after winning the first set 6-4 against his opponent from Poland. However, Nick Kyrgios then lost two tie-breaks and ended his journey in the German city. During the match, he had a clash with one of the ball boys after a small incident.

While collecting up the Australian's first-serve error on the run, a ball boy tripped. Nick Kyrgios stopped shortly before serving one down the middle. He then made an unforced error by hitting a baseline forehand too far, at which time he turned to the youngster and said:

"You just put me off. Run properly, please."
