Stefanos Tsitsipas was fighting for the last semi-final spot at the 2022 ATP Finals, but it didn't go as he planned against Andrey Rublev, and he also got into a fight with his parents.

After losing to Novak Djokovic and defeating Daniil Medvedev, the Greek player took on Andrey Rublev, who also had one victory in the round-robin stage of the year-end competition.

Therefore, the winner of their clash was set to advance to the semi-finals of the 2022 ATP Finals. That meant there was a lot to play for since the first ball was hit.

The Greek player won the opening set 6-3, especially thanks to serving really well. Tsitsipas lost only two points on his serve, thanks to which he was able to win the first set without facing a break point.

In the remaining two sets, however, Tsitsipas started struggling. Rublev was the better player on the court, and after an hour and 45 minutes, Tsitsipas lost the match 6-3, 3-6, 2-6.

It was a disappointing loss for the Greek player, who missed out on the semi-final spot, and he showed a lot of frustration during the match and also after the match.

Tsitsipas' father Apostolos and mother Julia tried to encourage the Greek player on the court. However, their son didn't appreciate their attempts. He quite clearly showed that he wasn't happy about their behavior as he shot a ball in their direction.

Following the match, the Greek also spoke about his opponent, who he felt wasn't a better player despite beating him with "few tools."

Although the 2022 ATP Finals didn't go as planned for Tsitsipas, he can still finish the year on his career-high third position in the ATP Rankings. However, if Casper Ruud wins his semi-final match, the Norwegian will move to the third spot.
