There is a fresh twist to the ongoing footwear dispute between the famous American rapper Travis Scott and tennis icon John McEnroe.

What began as an online spat has become a full-blown grudge deal that has attracted the world's attention. For context, Travis Scott and John McEnroe collaborated with Nike to recreate the tennis legend's famous collection of Mac Attack sneakers, first released in 1984.

The special edition of McEnroe's signature shoe will be released on December 19th. The seven-time Grand Slam singles champion got into a heated argument with Scott in a Zoom call in the presence of Nike officials over a disagreement on the name of the shoe.

Their confrontation was centered around the name of the sneakers. McEnroe insisted on dropping Scott's nickname and record label, the "Cactus Jack," in favor of "Cactus Mac" as a tribute to his own legacy. The rapper stated, "Cactus Mac was never a thing," which the 64-year-old did not take kindly.

McEnroe could be heard yelling at his countryman and accusing him of disrespecting him, adding that it was his shoe and feeling vindicated to name it with his unique mantra. That video has since surfaced online and caught many fans' attention.

The former tennis star reiterated his call for respect from Travis Scott in a roadside interview where he was captured wearing his custom-styled shoe where the word "Jack" was crossed out and replaced by "Mac."

Well, it turns out the 32-year-old rapper is watching each of McEnroe's moves and is certainly not pleased by his latest stunt. So Scott made the journey to Nike World Headquarters in Oregon with spray paint, which he used to vandalize McEnroe's Hall of Fame plaque.

Tension and temper have gone out of hand between the pair, and it will be interesting to see what McEnroe will have to say about Travis Scott's actions.
