WATCH: Novak Djokovic greeted by thousands upon return to Belgrade

Novak Djokovic won Wimbledon on Sunday for the 7th time in his career and after an early morning walk on the Centre Court, the Serbian flew home to Belgrade to receive a grand parade.

Novak Djokovic is beloved in Serbia and for very good reason. He's the best athlete the country has had in centuries and one that elevated the countries standing in the world. He did that by winning countless tennis trophies building a pretty solid case for himself as the greatest player to play one of the most popular sports in the world.

His 7th Wimbledon came on Sunday against Nick Kyrgios and obviously, it was welcomed with open arms by Serbians around the world. We saw the sheer magnitude of his popularity when he flew back to Belgrade on Monday being greeted by thousands in the Serbian capital in the evening.

Djokovic showcased the shiny Wimbledon trophy being cheered on by thousands of his compatriots. People were seen flying the Serbian flag with pride as well as numerous GOAT banners. Check out some of the atmosphere below.
