Daniil Medvedev created yet another on-court tennis highlight by removing a net post during a changeover in his match against Alexander Zverev at the Monte-Carlo Masters.

Medvedev is known as quite a character on the ATP Tour, and some people enjoy that because, at times, he can be very funny, while other people think some of his antics can be very excessive. In general, there is no middle ground, as most either love them or they don't.

Sometimes, his antics can be very problematic, but sometimes, they can be rather funny. The funny one happened at the Monte-Carlo Masters during his match against Alexander Zverev.

Medvedev lost the opening set and was down 4-5 in the second set, with Zverev being only one game away from winning. On top of that, the German player was next to serve, meaning he was about to serve for the match.

During the changeover, Medvedev approached the net as the game on his least favorite surface concluded, and he then took out the net post at the right side of the net. Zverev was stunned by what was going on, and he kind of paused on the other side of the net to see what the Russian player was doing.

After Medvedev removed the net post and went to his seat, Zverev just kind of looked at umpire Carlos Bernardes and then at his box, laughing as he walked back to his seat.

Medvedev calmly sat down on his bench as if nothing happened, and he didn’t even get a warning. The umpire simply said it was fine and that nothing was broken as he reinstated the net post where it belonged.

The whole situation was posted on social media by TennisTV, with the commentators having a big chuckle about the situation as Medvedev just kind of calmly sat down on his bench as if nothing happened.

It was a funny situation, even though not all of his antics on the court can be as benign as that one. Medvedev once famously kicked a camera, which can be rather expensive.

After removing the net post, Medvedev was able to turn around the second set from 4-5 down to win 7-5, and he forced a decider against Zverev. It could have been the moment during the changeover that could have completely changed the momentum of the match.

Coco Gauff and Jessica Pegula recently talked about including trash talk in tennis, and while this wasn't trash talk, it was certainly something that could have distracted Medvedev's opponent.
