Stefanos Tsitsipas has discussed the time he noticed his girlfriend Paula Badosa for the first time, admitting to being left mesmerized by the Spaniard.

Tsitsipas and Badosa's relationship would generate much attention no matter what due to their status as top tennis players, but the pair do not attempt to hide their relationship or love for one another.

They regularly post on their respective social media accounts about each other, giving fans a visible insight into their relationship and the activities they enjoy together.

However, Tsitsipas and Badosa's relationship has not been without problems. After a year of dating, the high-profile couple briefly broke up in May of this year, but they reconciled a few weeks later.

Despite the Greek's mother being critical of Badosa after they got back together, the two have remained together ever since and played mixed doubles at the US Open, losing in the opening round.

Tsitsipas is currently competing at the Paris Masters, where he reached the quarterfinal on Thursday after defeating Francisco Cerundolo. Badosa ended her WTA season early but will return to play in the Billie Jean King Cup Finals.

Despite their busy playing and training schedules as tennis players, Tsitsipas and Badosa found a chance to do an interview together for the weekly Spanish magazine Hola!

Tsitsipas recalled being in love at first sight with Badosa when watching her at the 2020 Australian Open, even though the two did not begin dating until over three years later.

"It’s funny, but Paula and I never really met during tournaments. In fact, we might have only met two or three times before I actually got a chance to go up to her and say hello and introduce myself."

"I would say the first time I noticed Paula was when I saw her at the 2020 Australian Open , playing on Centre Court. It was love at first sight and I was completely mesmerised from that day on. I remember thinking to myself that one day we would be together."

Badosa is grateful that Tsitsipas came into her life when he did. The Spaniard was going through a very challenging period in 2023 because of injuries, but the two-time Grand Slam runner-up gave her the support she needed.

"I met Stef just after I got injured. It was one of the hardest seasons for me , because I had never gone so many months without playing tennis, and he gave me the happiness, support and fresh air that I so needed at that time. The truth is that I felt very lucky that some light came into my life at such a dark time."

Tsitsipas and Badosa seem to be very happy together, and hopefully, that continues. Their willingness to do an interview for a magazine that focuses on celebrities shows how they secure their relationship feels to them.

Badosa also made headlines recently after responding to the devastating DANA storms in Spain. Her compatriots Carlos Alcaraz and Rafael Nadal joined Badosa in commenting about the extreme weather event.
