Stefanos Tsitsipas will be the third-seeded player at the 2022 Monte-Carlo Masters and also one of the hottest favorites to win the title.

The Greek player will receive a bye in the first round as one of the Top 8 players in the draw, but in the second round, Tsitsipas will face a difficult test as he will meet the winner of the match between the 2019 champion Fabio Fognini and Arthur Rinderknech.

Tsitsipas was last year's Monte-Carlo Masters champion, so he will have a lot of points to defend at the event. Precisely, the Greek player will have to defend 1000 points at the ATP 1000 tournament in Monte Carlo, Monaco.

Ahead of the tournament, he attended a press conference where he spoke about his relationship with the tournament in Monte-Carlo as well as the crowd there.

"I am feeling great. Starting with the tournament here in Monte-Carlo, it feels like home for me to play on this court and having the opportunity this year to play in front of people and a massive crowd coming from both Italy and France."

Last year, the 23-year-old lifted one of the biggest trophies in his career in Monte Carlo, and it's not surprising that he has some fan base in Monaco.

"I have some supporters in Monaco. I have family here. It's great sharing this with them and getting good weather hopefully all week long and a good series of tennis matches."

Tsitsipas is so far the fifth player in the ATP Race and therefore he can see the first hard-court part of the season as a success. But there's a more to come for the Greek as players switch from hard court to clay.

"I like the transition of hard to clay. I enjoy switching from hard courts to clay courts. I always love coming back to the academy where I train and change my shoes and go back to the clay. It's a good feeling."
