Only two men won Grand Slam titles in 2024, but there were plenty that performed well at majors throughout the season.
With four Grand Slam tournaments played every year on three different surfaces, there are always plenty of opportunities for different players to add one of the titles to their collection.
All of the players on the ATP Tour were presented with the same opportunity also in 2024, but only two players could grow their collection of majors.
The 2024 season also marked the first year since 2002 when none of the Big Three players managed to win a Grand Slam. In 2023, Novak Djokovic still carried the torch, winning three out of four majors, but he will end the 2024 season without adding to his 24 Grand Slam titles.
Still, the Serbian player was one of the best performers in Grand Slam tournaments in 2024. As arguably the greatest tennis player of all time, he doesn't want to collect final appearances but trophies.
5. Novak Djokovic (2,600 points)
Novak Djokovic was, in fact, the fifth-best male performer in Grand Slam tournaments in 2024. However, he fell short of expectations at the Australian Open, where he was the defending champion, last losing a match in Melbourne in 2018.
This time, however, he was beaten in the semi-finals, and it set the tone for the rest of his season. He was forced to withdraw from the Roland Garros before his quarter-final match, and at Wimbledon, the 37-year-old lost in the final to Carlos Alcaraz.
He couldn't recover at the US Open either, losing already in the third round of the tournament, marking his worst result at a Grand Slam since his second-round loss at the 2017 Australian Open.
Still, in 2024, Djokovic collected 2,600 points at Grand Slam tournaments, which means that he was the fifth-best male performer at major tournaments.
3. Daniil Medvedev and Alexander Zverev (2,700 points)
Two players performed identically at Grand Slam tournaments in 2024, having reached a final, a semi-final, a quarter-final, and a fourth round—of course, at different tournaments.
Daniil Medvedev and Alexander Zverev have been long-time rivals, and their rivalry was reflected in their results at majors in 2024. At the Australian Open, Medvedev reached the final, while Zverev lost in the semi-final.
It was the German's time to shine at the French Open, where he reached the final, while his Russian rival lost in the fourth round. At the Wimbledon Championships, Medvedev reached the semi-finals, while Zverev lost in the fourth round.
At the US Open, both made it to the quarter-final, closing their accounts, which grew by exactly 2,700 points at Grand Slam tournaments in 2024.
2. Carlos Alcaraz (4,450 points)
Carlos Alcaraz was the second-best performer at Grand Slams in 2024. He started with a quarter-final appearance at the Australian Open, and after that, he managed to win back-to-back majors.
The Spaniard was the best player at both the French Open and the Wimbledon Championships, growing his Grand Slam collection to four titles and winning his first on clay.
However, at the US Open, he recorded his worst-ever result at a Grand Slam tournament, matching his second-round exits from the 2021 Australian Open and Wimbledon. As a result, Alcaraz won 4,450 points at Grand Slams in 2024.
1. Jannik Sinner (5,200 points)
Jannik Sinner was the most successful tennis player, male or female, in Grand Slam tournaments in 2024. He started the year perfectly by winning his first major trophy at the Australian Open.
He then reached the French Open semi-final and Wimbledon quarter-final, which might have been disappointing, given how well he performed up until that point.
However, Sinner ended the Grand Slam season by winning the US Open, becoming the most successful player at the major level in 2024, thanks to collecting a total of 5,200 points.
