Frances Tiafoe and Taylor Fritz gear up to lead Team World at the 2023 Laver Cup, aiming to repeat their title-winning success in Vancouver this September.

Tiafoe and Fritz are the top-ranked American tennis players, and they are set to reunite for Team World in the Laver Cup 2023, hoping to defend their title with the same zeal and passion that led them to victory last year.

The prestigious event will take place at the Rogers Arena in Vancouver, Canada, from September 22-24. The American duo will be joined by Canadian No.1 Felix Auger-Aliassime, who was the first player to be named in Captain John McEnroe's six-man squad.

The triumvirate of Tiafoe, Fritz, and Auger-Aliassime are not strangers to the Laver Cup, having played multiple times and delivering outstanding performances. Their experience, combined with the guidance of Captain McEnroe, will be vital for Team World as they seek to retain the coveted trophy. McEnroe has expressed his excitement about the reunion, likening it to "getting the band back together" and highlighting his confidence in the team's chances in Vancouver.

“It’s like getting the band back together. Taylor, Frances and Felix have all played Laver Cup multiple times and were big factors in our victory last year. I know I can count on these guys to step up. I really like our chances with them on the team in Vancouver.”

Taylor Fritz shares McEnroe's enthusiasm, emphasizing the unique nature of the Laver Cup and the positive energy the team carried during their victorious campaign in London last year. However, he also acknowledges the unpredictable nature of the event and the need for the team to be at their best to maintain momentum.

“Laver Cup is such a unique event and I’m really excited to be back for Team World this year. We had an awesome time in London last year, the team had great energy, and finally getting that win has given us a lot of confidence. But, Frances, Felix and I know from experience how quickly momentum can shift in Laver Cup so we will need to be at our best.”

Similarly, Frances Tiafoe considers last year's Laver Cup triumph as a career highlight and is eager to replicate the feeling of victory in this year's edition. The American duo's determination and ambition, coupled with the strong support of their teammates and captain, set the stage for an exciting and highly competitive Laver Cup.

“There’s no doubt that last year’s Laver Cup win was right up there as a career high for me. It was an unbelievable feeling to finally lift that trophy after coming so close in the past, and I can’t wait to give it another shot this year.”
