Alexander Zverev suffered a nasty injury at the 2022 Roland Garros, but now, the German is on track with his recovery.

If Alexander Zverev were to be ready in time for this season's US Open, he would need all the tennis Gods to be in his court.

The German has, in recent weeks, been known to be using the latest technology to aid his recovery, such as virtual reality technology, all with the goal of getting him back onto the ATP Tour as quickly as possible.

Speaking about the progress he has already made and what steps he must take in the coming days and weeks to give himself the best chance possible of coming back in time for the season's Grand Slam, the German said:

"I've had a huge injury. I have torn three ligaments and injured four others. There is certainly some fear."

Going on to talk about the innovation he is using to aid his recuperation, Zverev made it clear that he is a big fan of trying out new methods to stay ahead of the competition as all of his rivals continue developing.

"You have to try new things, if you don't, then you just stop. If you don't develop your training methods, then you stand still and that means you go backwards. Other players and other athletes continue to develop."

It may seem like a long time ago that we witnessed that horror injury on the Court Phillipe Chatrier at Roland Garros, considering how long we have not had the tall German gracing the ATP courts, and that is exactly right.

With his fans and the wider tennis family wishing him the speediest of returns, only time will tell if he is able to make it back in time to grace the New York courts such as Arthur Ashe and Louis Armstrong.
