Serena Williams didn't participate in the celebration that took place at Wimbledon's Centre Court, which celebrated 100 years.

Serena Williams was attempting to make a sensational comeback at the 2022 Wimbledon Championships. However, the legendary American already lost in the first round to Harmony Tan.

Williams played well in the match, but it was a match of the tiniest margins and Tan ultimately beat her 7-5, 1-6, 7-6(7). Despite the loss, it seemed that Serena could stay in London for a few more days.

The tournament organizers had a special ceremony planned to celebrate 100 years of the Centre Court. As a player who has won seven titles on the court, Williams was obviously among those invited to the celebration.

However, to the disappointment of many fans, she didn't appear on the court alongside fellow legends such as her sister Venus Williams, Novak Djokovic, Roger Federer, Chris Evert, and many others.

According to the source known to The Telegraph, the 23-time Grand Slam champion asked the tournament organizers to use five cars provided for the duration of the tournament.

"She wanted to use the cars for the whole two weeks because that’s what happens at the other Grand Slams. She was told that was not possible because they had to be used by the other players. She was not happy. Maybe that’s why she refused to take part in the centenary parade."

Usually, players receive one car during their participation in the tournament, but some of the best players can be given many more vehicles.

According to The Telegraph, Williams wanted a car for herself, her husband, sister, mother, and her coach. But allegedly, her request to use the cars even after her exit from the tournament was denied, despite the Wimbledon spokesman stating:

"We have fulfilled every transport request we received."

After Serena Williams didn't participate in the parade at the Centre Court, some suggested she might have flown back home. However, later that evening she was present at a concert in London and posted pictures from the British capital also on Tuesday.
