At the 2023 Miami Open, the tennis world witnessed an absolute masterclass from the sixth-seeded Andrey Rublev.

The Russian dismantled 29th-seeded Miomir Kecmanovic in a dominant third-round display. Rublev, who is seeking his first title this season, showcased his relentless intensity and precision on the court, leaving his opponent no chance for a comeback.

Coming into the match, Rublev had faced a disappointing fourth-round exit at Indian Wells and held a 12-7 win-loss record for the year. In contrast, Miomir Kecmanovic had been struggling with his form, with a modest 8-7 record this year after achieving an impressive 40-match win tally last season.

With a second-round loss to Stan Wawrinka at Indian Wells, Kecmanovic aimed to turn his fortunes around in Miami after beating France's Ugo Humbert in his second-round match, but Rublev had other plans.

In a breathtaking display of power and accuracy, Rublev set the tone from the very beginning. The first set saw him break Kecmanovic's serve twice, securing a commanding 6-1 victory while striking 15 winners and committing a mere two unforced errors.

The second set proved even more remarkable, as Rublev further elevated his game. He continued to paint the lines with 19 winners, limiting his unforced errors to just one. Breaking Kecmanovic's serve twice more, Rublev wrapped up the set 6-2, confirming his spot in the next round.

The Russian's ruthless performance at the Miami Open sends a strong message to his rivals, as he marches forward in his quest for his first title of the season. In the upcoming round, Rublev will face the winner of the battle between 10th-seeded Jannik Sinner and 21st-seeded Grigor Dimitrov.

Both showed their qualities in the previous round, but after Rublev's dominant win over Kecmanovic, neither of them will be particularly happy to play against the Russian in the fourth round.
