Holger Rune has received some harsh criticism about his temper from Serena Williams' former coach, Rennae Stubbs.

Despite some sensational form that has led to a final at Monte Carlo and a victory at the Munich Open over Botic van de Zandschulp, 19-year-old Rune continues to struggle with keeping his emotions in check on the court.

In a further analysis of Rune's antics, Stubbs believes the over-exertion of mental and physical actions could hinder Dane's fitness moving forward.

"I mean, he was smacking Rublev; he gets up 4-1, and bang, the cramps start again. And he's had an issue with this in the past, where the cramping has really hurt him, and I just wonder how much of that has to do with his emotions and his ups and downs,”
