Tennis legend Roger Federer shared snippets of his recent sightseeing visit to Japan alongside his wife and four children.
Federer retired from professional tennis in 2022, but that hasn't stopped him from globetrotting the world pursuing business ventures, promoting tourism, honoring endorsement deals, vacationing, and even shooting episodes for his video series titled "24 Hours with Roger".
Having overseen another successful edition of the Laver Cup in Vancouver, Canada, at the end of September, Federer traveled to Japan for a second time in under a year. In November 2022, Federer went to Tokyo to take part in a tennis event organized by his clothing sponsor Uniqlo.
During the trip, Federer played an exhibition match with some famous retired players like Shingo Kunieda and Kurumi Nara and explored some historical monuments in Japan's capital. However, he was disappointed at the time that his family did not join him on the trip.
Federer certainly planned for his latest adventure, where his wife Mirka and two sets of twins hopped into the plane that took them to Nonoichi city. The 42-year-old visited the Kanazawa Indoor Tennis Club (KTC) and enjoyed a hit behind closed doors together with his family and posed for pictures with the staff there.
"Mr. Roger Federer, who is on a private family trip today, on the morning of the 8th, finished a sightseeing tour of Kanazawa and played tennis as a family at our Kanazawa Indoor Tennis Club."
Federer also had the chance to experience the colorful and vibrant side of Japanese culture in Tokyo. He shared photos of his time at the supermarket and appears to have checked out with some groceries. He visited the busy Takeshita Street which is a pedestrian haven in Tokyo where no vehicles are allowed, making it an excellent stop to shop and sightsee.
