The 2021 champion and the first seed at the Roland Garros in 2022, Novak Djokovic will face a lot of dangerous players on his way to title defense this year.
If he wants to defend the 2,000 points from last year and keep his World No. 1 spot in the ATP Rankings, Novak Djokovic will face a difficult quest at the 2022 Roland Garros.
Soon 35-year-old Serbian will start his journey against Yoshihito Nishioka, who he already defeated twice in his career. In the second round, Djokovic will face a much more challenging opponent as he will be facing the winner of the match between Alex Molcan and Federico Coria.
He defeated both of them last year in Belgrade on his way to the title, but both are very solid clay-court players, and the Slovak player is now coached by his former coach, Marian Vajda.
That could create an incredibly exciting matchup, as the Serbian player could play against a player that is currently coached by his former coach, possibly making his life more difficult on the tennis courts.
In the third round, the Serbian could face the 31st-seeded Jenson Brooksby or another clay-court specialist, Pablo Cuevas. Diego Schwartzman or Djokovic's good friend, Grigor Dimitrov, will most probably await him in the fourth round of the second Grand Slam of the season.
From the quarter-final round, it will be just the big names for Djokovic. First, he would most probably take on Rafael Nadal, who seems like the most likely quarter-final opponent for the Serbian.
Then he could face Carlos Alcaraz or Alexander Zverev in the semi-finals of the Parisian Slam before eventually taking on Stefanos Tsitsipas or Daniil Medvedev in the final.
