Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, and Andy Murray are all set to play in the 2022 Laver Cup, and fans would like to see Novak Djokovic joining them to complete the 'Big Four' at the event.
In 2018, Djokovic played at the Laver Cup for the first and, until now, also his only time. Back then he played alongside Federer, as Nadal was absent from the event.
Murray has never competed at the event before, and he will make his debut in 2022. With Federer, Nadal, and Murray all on the entry list, there is only one more player missing to complete the Big Four, and the Serbian hinted at his participation after his 2022 Wimbledon triumph.
Djokovic spoke about his plans and admitted that he first has to see whether he will be allowed to compete in the United States to properly shape his schedule.
"Now that that's done and dusted, I prioritise slams and big tournaments really and where I want to play, where I feel good. We still have not spoken about the schedule, Goran and I. We have to sit down and see what the news are from States and whether that's happening or not happening, then take it from there."
At the same time, Djokovic also mentioned the Laver Cup. It's an exhibition event, but the fact that he mentioned the tournament suggests that it's on the cards for the Serbian player.
"It could be Laver Cup, Davis Cup is coming as well. I love playing for my country. I am going to try to be part of that. Next thing you know, the season is over, right? Those are the big, let's say, tournaments that I have right now in my mind."
"As regards the US Open, I mean, I'm not vaccinated, and I'm not planning to get vaccinated, so the only good news I can have is them removing the mandated green vaccine card or whatever you call it to enter the United States - or an exemption."
